Wrapping Up the “Big Read”  Nov. 10th @ 6 PM—Swan Room—Library

Our final event will be Monday evening, Nov. 10th with Virgil Dean as Project Historian.  He will share some and participate in the book discussion.    He will be joined by Trish Reeves who will lead the book discussion.  Trish is retired from Haskell Indian Nations University and currently leads a men and women’s  group sponsored by Johnson Co. Corrections, called “Changing Life Through Literature”. She also works closely with a group called RezVets, which is a veteran’s support and writing group.

We will serve a meal at 6 PM on Monday, Nov. 10th.  We need you to call the library and reserve your spot for the meal. (we need to know how much food to prepare).  Hope to see you for the discussion and meal.

The book is made up of several short stories, so you can read sections of it, if the whole book becomes a daunting task.  Please call library if you plan to attend or register online at This is a joint project between library and museum  and the college bound freshmen at PVHS and was made possible through funding from Kansas Humanities Council and the Big Read organizations.
